Privacy Policy
TabReceipt stores your tab data exclusively on your own device. Nothing is ever sent to us, stored on any server, or shared with anyone. We have no way to see your tabs — and that's intentional.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how TabReceipt ("the Extension"), developed and published by Angel Dev Studio ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use the Extension.
TabReceipt is a Chrome browser extension that saves timestamped snapshots of your open browser tabs so you can close them confidently and restore them later. This policy explains exactly what data the Extension touches, where it lives, and what we do (or rather, do not do) with it.
By installing and using TabReceipt you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
Data Collection
We do not collect any personal data. TabReceipt does not collect, record, transmit, or process any information about you or your browsing activity on our end. There are no servers receiving your data, no databases storing your history, and no analytics pipelines observing your behaviour.
When you click "Save Receipt & Close All Tabs," the Extension reads the following information from your currently open browser tabs and saves it locally on your device only:
| Data item | Why it is accessed | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Tab title | Displayed in your receipt so you can identify the page | Your device only |
| Tab URL | Used to reopen the tab when you click "Restore" | Your device only |
| Tab favicon | Displayed as a small icon next to each tab title | Your device only |
| License key (Pro users) | Validates your Pro subscription via Lemon Squeezy's API | Your device only |
None of the above data is transmitted to Angel Dev Studio or any other party. We have zero visibility into your saved receipts.
Data Storage
All data saved by TabReceipt is stored exclusively using
chrome.storage.local
— a browser-native storage mechanism that keeps data on your local device, isolated to
the Extension, and not synced to any cloud service.
chrome.storage.local is never synced to Google's servers (unlike chrome.storage.sync).Third Parties
TabReceipt does not share data with any third party. The Extension does not include any advertising SDKs, analytics libraries, crash-reporting tools, or any other third-party code that might transmit data externally.
The only external interaction occurs when a user chooses to upgrade to Pro:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Lemon Squeezy | Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. When you click "Upgrade to Pro," a Lemon Squeezy checkout page opens in a separate browser tab. All payment handling and billing is managed entirely by Lemon Squeezy. | Governed by Lemon Squeezy's own Privacy Policy. TabReceipt only receives a license key to validate your subscription — no payment details are ever seen or stored by the Extension. |
| Google Fonts | The Extension's interface loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts for display purposes. | Google may log the font request. See Google's Privacy Policy. No personal data from your tabs is involved. |
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of Lemon Squeezy or Google. We encourage you to review their respective policies before using those services.
Chrome Permissions Explained
TabReceipt requests the minimum permissions necessary to function. Here is exactly what each permission is used for:
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
tabs |
Read the title, URL, and favicon of your open tabs when you click "Save Receipt." Also used to close tabs and open the receipt archive page. |
storage |
Save your receipts to local device storage using chrome.storage.local. |
api.lemonsqueezy.com |
Pro users only: validate the license key you received by email against Lemon Squeezy's public license API. No personal data is transmitted — only the license key string. |
Your Rights
Because TabReceipt does not collect or store any personal data on our systems, there is no data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. All your data lives on your own device and is entirely under your control at all times.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). In both cases, because we hold no personal data about you, these rights are satisfied by design. If you have any questions, please contact us at the address below.
Security
Your receipt data is protected by Chrome's built-in storage isolation, which ensures that only TabReceipt can access data stored by TabReceipt. No other website or extension can read your receipts.
Because we maintain no servers and hold no user data ourselves, there is no central database that could be breached. The security of your data is entirely managed by Chrome's native security model on your own device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We will never introduce data collection practices that conflict with the core promise of this policy — that your tab data stays on your device — without providing clear advance notice.
Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or TabReceipt's data practices, please reach out to us directly. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
